Our NOGA May 2026 Update contains a lot of great information! NOGA recently gathered for its Annual Meeting at The Gardens of St. Francis for an afternoon of learning, celebration, reflection, and fellowship. We are grateful to The Gardens of St. Francis for hosting the event and providing refreshments.
During the event, NOGA welcomed Brooke Pawlecki from the GUIDE Program, who shared an informative overview and important updates for members. Her presentation helped highlight valuable resources impacting older adults and the professionals who support them.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was celebrating the 2026 John Vance Scholarship recipients, Audrey Collins and Rachel Keeler. Both recipients were awarded $2,500, and NOGA is proud to support individuals dedicated to making a difference in aging services and related fields. Guests were also able to hear portions of their winning essays during the program.
You can read their full essays here:
NOGA also extends sincere appreciation to the Area Office on Aging of Northwestern Ohio for its generous $2,500 donation to the John Vance Scholarship. This support helps continue NOGA’s commitment to encouraging service, compassion, and leadership in the field of aging.
The Annual Meeting also gave NOGA the opportunity to reflect on the past year and recognize continued growth, including the launch of our new website. The site was created to better connect members, share information, and strengthen NOGA’s presence in the community.
As part of the annual board transition, NOGA welcomed two new board members, Jean Drees and Kristen Goetz. NOGA also recognized Chris Cremean for his years of dedicated service to the organization and Board of Directors. His leadership and commitment have helped shape and strengthen NOGA over the years.
