WHAT IS NOGA?

The Northwest Ohio Gerontological Association (NOGA) is a mission-driven, multi-disciplinary organization committed to advancing the care, dignity, and well-being of older adults.

Founded in 1967 as the Geriatric Registered Nurses of the Greater Toledo Area, NOGA began as a group of dedicated healthcare professionals united by a common goal: to elevate the standard of care for our aging population. In 1978, we evolved into the Northwest Ohio Gerontological Association to better reflect our broad and inclusive membership.

Today, NOGA brings together a diverse network of professionals and advocates—healthcare providers, caregivers, educators, students, and community members—who are passionate about aging well and supporting those who serve older adults.

Empowering Aging Well Together

What does NOGA do?
NOGA’s mission is to provide ongoing education, meaningful networking, and a strong support system for professionals in the field of gerontology. By promoting collaboration, professional growth, and community awareness, NOGA works to address the evolving needs of aging populations across Northwest Ohio. The organization is dedicated to highlighting the value and contributions of older adults, while also advocating for best practices in senior care.

How does NOGA fulfill its mission?
NOGA hosts monthly educational programs that feature expert-led presentations on relevant gerontology topics. Each meeting includes time for professional networking, allowing members to build connections, share resources, and collaborate on community solutions. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or just beginning your career in aging services, NOGA provides the tools, insight, and inspiration needed to make a difference.
